Re: Ubuntustudio 19.04 Jack Gui with new functionality

I've been using the studio controls for the last few days and it seems great. I'm testing it because I will soon need to plug and unplug my usb soundcard quite often so it's a hassle to change jack profiles/settings each time so the hotplugging functionality should be perfect for me. The only issue ...

Watching videos with jack and dealing with latency

If i have jack running and watch a video then the audio is out of sync with the picture. I assume this is the buffer size and I have noticed that lowering that reduces the latency but is there a way to fix this such as delaying all video by the jack buffer size? I don't really want to change the buf...

Re: Taking the Linux plunge

I don't use guitarix very often but I think it can do all of those things, to an extent anyway, there are loads of effects available built in.

I don't mean to start jack but it should be visible in the settings.

Re: Does any driver between DAW and audio inferface..?

This is incredibly hard to follow.

The card is recognised by the looks of it, if you open qjackctl or cadence is it listed there as a device you can choose?

Re: How to install Infamous plugin in ubutu from the source ?

I think you are missing dev packages for those it gives errors for, they usually have '-dev' in the name, like ntk-dev etc.

You could post a request on the kxstudio github issues page, often falktx will bump the version if he can and has time to - https://github.com/KXStudio/Repository/issues

You can use a script and leave jack running all the time - viewtopic.php?t=13234, set and forget

Re: LMMS and Audacity start problem

Sounds like you need to bridge pulseaudio to jack (or stop jack after you have finished using it). If you are using cadence there is a tab to set that up.

I don't think you should be running those build commands with su, have you tried without (as your user)?

Re: Calf plugin pack silently crashes when attempting to start

Are you able to run other programs that use jack? It does look like you have a problem with jack running rather than with the calf host. Can you screenshot the qjackctl settings and greyed out parts? Might be worth deleting the qjackctl settings and starting again, just choose your soundcard and try...

Re: Moving some KXStudio packages to official Debian repos

Might be easier for falktx to have control over getting fixes out and having a certain version to support.
