Re: Dragonfly Room Reverb - Testers needed

New beta release v1.9.0 available here . This packages both the new Dragonfly Room Reverb, and the renamed Dragonfly Hall Reverb. The latter should be able to replace the old Dragonfly Reverb, as it is essentially the same plugin and identifies itself as such; please delete the old Dragonfly Reverb ...

Re: Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 dead silent in Debian (no PA)

Yeah, seems like the interface is faulty, even if you are able to wiggle it to life with Win10. I've never had any such trouble with my 2i4 which has worked fine since day one.

Re: Wolf Spectrum - Free spectrogram plugin (LV2/VST/Jack)

Great work! The first thing I looked for in your source code was the FFT implementation. I see you're using a library called kissfft; could you elaborate on how you made your choice? Dragonfly Reverb currently uses Project Nayuki's FFT , but admittedly I didn't spend much time looking; it's just tha...

Re: Moving some KXStudio packages to official Debian repos

The Debian release process is fairly arduous (for good reasons). We tried to get Dragonfly Reverb into the upcoming Debian, but we missed a deadline, so I think the next chance is in 2021. KXStudio's packages are updated so rapidly that it's probably better to keep them separate rather than try to w...

Re: Dragonfly Room Reverb - Testers needed

Well, after a cursory search I found these two discussions about emulating spring reverb: https://www.thegearpage.net/board/index.php?threads/so-spring-reverbs-with-drip.1737146/page-2 http://www.spinsemi.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=598&sid=60a9596850726156a85d4e5a8add3cc8 It seems like it...

Re: Dragonfly Room Reverb - Testers needed

I'm curious if any of the algorithms you use to create presets emulate spring Reverbs, that would be a really cool niche sound to have digitized for guitarists. A spring reverb would be great. So far my plugins are just wrappers for algorithms that I find in the freeverb3 collection. I took a look ...

Re: Dragonfly Room Reverb - Testers needed

One request: would you consider a different color scheme to help visually differentiate the Hall and Room versions? (Very minor "issue", of course...) Yes, I definitely think a different color scheme is in order, this was just a quick prototype mostly reusing code and graphics from my oth...

Re: Dragonfly Room Reverb - Testers needed

Oh, I should mention that I renamed some of the settings, trying to better reflect what they do. ProG name -> Dragonfly name --------------------------- FAC -> Oversample RT60 -> Decay BASL -> Boost Freq BASF -> Boost DAMP -> Dampen Freq Hopefully the others are clear enough. I didn't expose ILPF, O...

Re: Dragonfly Room Reverb - Testers needed

I'll also load Hibiki because I'm sure you want me to make suggestions for controls to add to that too. :) Heh... I know, you really want the Spin Factor. Sorry I never wrote back on that, life has been kind of crazy this year, and I was hoping that ProG might do what you want so that I could avoid...

Re: Dragonfly Room Reverb - Testers needed

I'm in. :) It seems to be working fine for me so far (Linux VST in Reaper). I see the controls are fairly limited at the moment. To get my favorite settings in ProG, I had to adjust more controls, although I had been using it more as a "very smooth hall reverb". So far I'm able to get a n...

Dragonfly Room Reverb - Testers needed

I've been working on a new reverb plugin. It uses Freeverb3's ProG algorithm, and the user interface is based on the Dragonfly Hall Reverb (it looks almost exactly the same, but with different dials). An alpha release is available here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/4qp6jl4gofg10l1/DragonflyRoomReverb-L...

Re: Lowpass filters cutting off 20khz-48khz?

I use a session sample rate of 48kHz instead of 44.1kHz simply because it may help my interface to perform better.

Try x42's Tuna. It's available from KXStudio if you don't want to build it yourself.

Re: funky album produced on the big tux itself

There's nothing wrong with only visiting one in a blue moon, when you are spending time actually making music, instead of doing what I do, sitting around here jabbering while procrastinating my own music projects. Good stuff, I listened to the first track on my phone while trying to put two li...
