I agree with @CrocoDuck.

Re: USB Audio Interface JACK Xruns on Linux but not on Windows

There's the CPU spike. Does the DSP load also spike? The spike suggests that there is something that could be done in software to fix this. In your first post the outputs of lsusb and cat /proc/interrupts didn't add up. Is the BIOS the latest version? Are there BIOS settings that might affect this? ...

Re: Difference between jackd and jackdbus

There are three possibilities :
  • jackd only
  • jackdbus only (what I've got)
  • jackd and jackdbus mixture (what you've got)

Re: Difference between jackd and jackdbus

I'm using a tablet, so I'm kind of limited at the moment. falkTX explains it above : both jackd and jackdbus implement a jack server. one is started via command-line and having it running means the jack server is also running - jackd the other is a user service that can stop/start the jack server dy...

Re: Difference between jackd and jackdbus

I suppose to understand it it's helpful to know the difference between a daemon and D-bus.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/D-Bus

If you go to the 'Overview' section there is a helpful diagram.

Re: USB Audio Interface JACK Xruns on Linux but not on Windows

It works on your laptop. Probably you plugged the soundcard into a USB 2 port. So it may be USB 2 works, rather than the laptop.

You could move your mouse, keyboard and everything else onto USB 1 and use USB 2 for the soundcard.

Re: Hello Linux Musicians

You don't need a "special" (i.e. badly supported) distro for that. You've said this in a few posts. I think it's misleading. What support are you talking about? Do the Ubuntu forums have specialised pro-audio hardware support? It seems unlikely considering the number of people who turn up...

Re: USB Audio Interface JACK Xruns on Linux but not on Windows

You could try using your USB soundcard as an input and the internal soundcard as an output.

Re: USB Audio Interface JACK Xruns on Linux but not on Windows

I see. It is a while since I used QjackCtl. :)

So @Drumfix is saying the problem is with the ALSA driver for your hardware, which is a kernel module.

Re: USB Audio Interface JACK Xruns on Linux but not on Windows

It looks like it's what Drumfix said then. Before you investigate patching the kernel -- 'duplex' mode is for using a different input and output device. If you don't select 'duplex' then the same device is used for input and output. You also mentioned you had enabled D-bus. You could try deleting ~/...
